What an Aerodynamic Boy!

We're pretty excited to see if he pulls a Mary Poppins when the wind picks up!

If you knew Bella, you'd realize how amazing this picture is. She doesn't share her space, her mom or her love with just anybody. But what can I say? I'm quite lovable.

Life is good. I've mastered the housebreaking thang and I'm understanding the leash concept much better. My foster mom is surprised I'm such a quick, enthusiastic learner (should I be insulted by that?) I like to greet the day with an awesome howl (when I'm outside), which is why a friend has nicknamed me T-Bone; she thinks I'd make a great blues singer. I'm a wee bit frightened by squeaky toys, but hey, I've never had any. I'm sure I'll get into them. The adoption event Saturday was good fun. As usual, I needed to greet and love up everyone, man and beast alike, so I was a bit wilted by the end (but so were the other dogs--it was hot!) I got some great attention and we'll see what happens. My foster mom has assured me I'm a very special boy and I'll be snuggling soon with a similarly amazing family.

Hot, humid Sundays are for lounging around...

It's Nice Here

Theo (we call him Teo, just to be fancy) came to stay last night and he's wonderful. Definitely a lover, not a fighter. Bella (juiced by so many treats her little head spun) was a near-perfect darling.

Teo inspected the place and proclaimed it worthy. He mostly wants to hang out on the couch or with his sweet little head on my lap. He adores Bella and follows her lead, which she's cool with. He wasn't so jazzed about his sponge bath, but he waited patiently til I was done. He looooves walks--I need to get him a harness. We hit the sidewalk and he's like a man released from death row (which he pretty much is)--pep in his step, tail wagging, love emanating (probably from those ears--you could hide a missile in there).

We're excited to get him housebroken and into his forever home. Someone is going to be a very lucky dog momma or dad!

Theo Is Now Teo And In His New Foster Home

Teo, the most adorable 30 lb beagle mix (look at these HUGE ears - maybe there's some bassett in there?) met his new foster Rachel today and his new canine pal Bella. Bella doesn't always like to share her home, things or human and how can blame her? But she really tried hard to have a good attitude and welcome this little guy into her home. There might have been one or two bribes/treats to helped soften her up....

Teo made short order of checking the place out and decided that it was pretty darn nice - way nicer than the shelter and that Rachel was pretty friendly and loose with the yummies. Even that Bella was not so bad.

Teo is looking forward to more walks with Rachel and Bella and checking out more great smells. He just knows that a cute, friendly dog like him will find a great home in no time. He can't wait for the next adoption event!

Meet Theo the beagle

My name is Theo. I am a really cute 3 yr old, 30 lb male beagle. I am really sweet too - the folks at the shelter loved me and worked really hard to find a rescue to save me. Yay! they succeded and I will be moving to a really great foster home in just a day or so. Now I am hoping my luck stays good and I find a forever home soon. I'm a super nice, friendly dog and at 30 lbs just a great size so I'm hoping someone really great will want to take me home soon.

OK, cute as I am, I'm not perfect - I admit that I don't know too much - I'm prob not house trained, prob never walked on a leash and don't yet know too many basic commands like sit, come, stay. But I am eager to learn and eager to please and just look at me - I mean, how can you resist my soulful eyes. With a little help, I can be house trained really, really quickly.
Did I mention that I've got a great personality and get along with everyone and I like other dogs too.

I should mention that I've got a mild case of Heart worm but I've already started treatment for that. All this means is that I need to be keep a little calm until my treatment is over and the heart worms are gone. After their gone, I'll be as healthy as the next dog - thank God my heart worm was caught early. A nice man has sponsored my heart worm treatment so my adopter won't have to worry about this expense.

Won't you consider adopting me?
